Transfer AAdvantage Miles

In the event that an AAdvantage Account member passes away and a family member wishes to claim their miles, GoodTrust can help. Follow the steps below to transfer the AAdvantage Miles.

American Airlines allows you to transfer frequent flier miles from the deceased. Call 800-882-8880 and request “AAdvantage Account” at the Main Menu to have the mileage balance from a deceased member's account transferred to a beneficiary's account.

The program will send an email to you requesting a copy of the death certificate and an affidavit. The affidavit will need to include the deceased member’s account number and the account info of the person(s) receiving the miles. This transfer can be made to more than one account, so you don’t need to decide on one person to receive everything.

AAdvantage Customer Service can be reached here.
